Students will understand...

  • The role of the media specialist as a teacher and resource person utilizing the library and electronic resources to enrich literacy.

  • Library/Computer Lab guidelines and procedures and give examples of how to take care of their books and the technology they use.

  • The roles of an author and illustrator and the components of a book (title, pages, etc...).

  • How exhibiting a positive attitude toward using technology that supports collaboration, learning, and productivity aides their learning

Students will use databases such as Pebble Go or National Geographic Kids to research topics.

By the end of the year students will be able to answer the question "In what ways can I respond to literature?"

Students will know how to use technology responsibly and display characteristics of digital citizenship.
